Support

Quick fixes, setup help, and a clean checklist for when Vertex isn’t behaving. If you want, I can also make a dedicated “Status” page later.

Fast troubleshooting checklist

Most issues are permissions or channel/role setup. Run through these first.

1
Role position
Move Vertex above the roles it needs to manage (Discord role hierarchy matters).
2
Channel permissions
Verify the bot can View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Manage Messages where required.
3
Re-run config
If your server settings changed, re-apply config commands so stored IDs are correct.
4
API setup
If Oxford API commands fail, confirm the API is configured properly (V1.1.3 fixed false “not set up” errors).

Owner & developer support

For server setup, DevTools can help safely, with owners in control.

1
Permission Bypass Requests (V1.1.3)
Developers can request full command access for setup. Owners accept/deny and can revoke anytime.
2
When reporting a bug
Include the command used, the channel, the exact error text, and what you expected to happen.
3
Reproduce
If it happens consistently, list steps so it can be fixed faster.

Contact options

These are placeholders you can swap for your real links (support server, email, forms).

Tip: If you send me your support server link + preferred contact method, I’ll wire these buttons properly.

Common fixes

Quick answers for the most common “it doesn’t work” moments.

!
Commands don’t respond
Check permissions + whether the bot can read messages in that channel.
!
Vote button missing
This was fixed in V1.1.3 — update/restart if you’re self-hosting.
